Behind the scenes @ the 2006 Nationals - Part 2
by Hans - November 9-12, 2006

More behind-the-scenes shots from the 2006 Nationals in Miami Beach. Part 2: Saturday.

Elena Seiple arrives for the pre-judging at the Jackie Gleason Theater on Saturday morning.
One of the most talked about new competitors of the show was 29 year-old lightweight Renée Oppedisano, who was doing her first ever Nationals. You'll be seeing a lot more of Renée in the future.
Celebrities in the audience at the pre-judging: (from left to right) Cindy Phillips, Amanda Dunbar, Colette Nelson and Mimi Jabalee. These girls really know how to critique female physiques...

Casey Daugherty looked pretty happy after pre-judging, and no wonder - she made the second comparison in an extremely tough light-heavyweight class on her national-level debut. In fact, she seemed to have that smile on her face for the whole weekend.

After the pre-judging it looked like Lora Ottenad had the heavyweight class all wrapped up. She totally dominated the stage, was called out first in the heavyweights and kept in the middle. Heather Policky, who won the heavyweights at the USA in July, was rooting for her. "I was a Lora fan even before I started competing," she said.
Heather and Sarah Dunlap go way back. They competed together in the heavyweights at the 2003 Junior Nationals, where both were making their national-level debuts and Sarah got first and Heather got second. Sarah went on to get her pro card at Nationals that same year, while Heather turned pro at the USA this year. After making her pro debut at the Europa this year, Sarah said she is planning to compete again next year - possibly at the Sacramento Pro in February.
Amanda and Robin Parker, who prepped her for the 2005 USA where she won her pro card.
This is what Robin's legs look like in the off-season!
Amanda was helping her video co-star Elena Seiple. Right after pre-judging, she is on the phone to her telling her how she looked and arranging to put another coat of Pro Tan on her before the night show.
Out in the lobby after the night show, Elena Seiple looked pretty happy with her second place in the light-heavies. Nice job on her tan Amanda!
Kristy Hawkins and Elena Seiple all dressed up after the show. The light-heavyweight class at next year's Nationals could be between these two!
Kristy with her proud mom.
Heather P ready to party!
Krissy Murell looking bad ass.
San Diegoans Debbie Bramwell and middleweight winner and new pro Lisa Bickels. Check out the US Marine Corps tattoo on Lisa's shoulder. Believe it or not, she is a trained tank mechanic!
After the show everybody headed to South Beach to party. Here's Krissy Murrell looking big and beautiful at one of the biggest parties, at the Opium Garden.
The club was full of bodybuilders letting loose. Here's Cindy Phillips.
Cindy and Britt are like a double act. They were even talking about getting "best friends" tattoos at Miami Ink.
Cindy told me to delete this photograph but I liked it too much! You rock Cindy!

More shots from the morning after in Part 3!
