Ali
likes to ride her motorcycle - a 2000 Suzuki Katana 600GSX - through Pasadena,
so if you see a buff chick zooming past you, it just might be this Southern
California bodybuilder. Of course it might be her blazing past you in her convertible
too. She loves to go fast and lift heavy, and she's got the muscle to back it
up.
Alis
youth revolved around sports, mainly soccer (playing, coaching and refereeing)
but she was also involved in track and softball. Her first year of college
began as president of the Womens Club Soccer Team and lots of recreational
running but ended with the decision to hang up the cleats permanently
after one too many injuries. Needing something athletic to do instead
of high-impact running sports, Ali started swimming, biking and picking
up the weights at the university gym and pursued all three for several
years.
Weight training
was always a constant regardless of where she moved and bodybuilding goals
quickly began developing. Fueled by muscle magazines, boyfriends and her
own progress, Ali just wanted to grow. She is currently 56
and around 170 lbs, a far cry from the tiny 125 lbs of her youth, yet
still shy of the 180 lbs she has been trying to reach. Old injuries still
plague her training but one of the things she likes about bodybuilding
is the variety of training techniques and the continual gain of knowledge
in health science and nutrition.
Besides
the increase in overall general health from being active, she enjoys possessing
the atypical strong, feminine body and challenging herself in this sport.
Bodybuilding has evolved into one of the most important outlets in her
life being more than a pastime, but also a necessity to maintain a clear
mind and a positive, healthy, goal-oriented life.
