A fourth weight class

By Hans
The NPC Junior Nationals always throws up future stars and this year was no exception. 23 year-old Amanda Dunbar and 22 year-old Kristy Hawkins, who placed third and fourth in the middleweight class, were both making their national level debuts. With beautiful shape and incredible size and thickness for their age, they both have great futures ahead of them in the sport. In a few years, they could be pros. But Amanda and Kristy now face a dilemma. At Junior Nationals Amanda weighed in at 132 pounds at 5-foot-4 and Kristy at 130 pounds at 5-3, both close to 132, the cut-off for...

Women by Women

by James Cook
"Women by Women" book party
A recent book available now features the work of internationally know photographers. "Women by Women" is a book of erotic photography by all female photographers. What makes a woman's perspective of the female form unique? I had the opportunity to talk with 3 of the books 40 photographers during a recent book party held here in Los Angeles.
I was invited by my longtime friend, Ivana Ford. Ivana has been photographing nude models for more than 10 years. She was my still photographer for FTV during the early videos (1999-2001). She...

Internext Expo

by James Cook
The first thing that impressed me is the size of the event and the elaborate exhibits from the vendors. The largest displays were from the affiliate programs (places that pay money for the annoying pop up ads at adult sites) and content providers (producers of adult pictures and videos who sell their content to other webmasters). There were many other vendors there to display new technologies, web hosting services and other products. For the female muscle lover out there, I had a chance to see some promising new technology. The webcams are improving and I think that webcams...

Train Like a Woman

By Kristin J. Reisinger
When I was asked to write a response article to Robert "Fortress" Fortneys "Train Like A Man," I envisioned myself writing a highly charged rebuttal piece to a sexist rant chock full of testosterone, andro and a bit of GH thrown in for good measure. After much thought about the topic at hand, I realized that a lot of Fortney's attitudes and beliefs towards training apply to everyone. Especially us women! Let me explain. Through the years I have seen many women in the gym lifting these rinky-dink, pink and purple hand weights barely breaking a sweat. I see the same...

Gina Davis Arm Training

by Hans
When Gina Davis first joined a gym as a 20 year-old and started working out, the first thing that she noticed growing was her arms. After just a few months of serious training, she was seeing some serious size developing in her biceps and triceps. That might have freaked a lot of women out -- but not Gina. "I was like, 'Wow, I like this!'" she says in her broad Texas accent. "A lot of times females are like, 'I don't want to get bulky,' but I was like, 'Bring on the bulk.' I loved it."

Heather Lee's Strongwoman experience

by Heather Lee and the FTV team
Heather Lee is a National ranked bodybuilder who most recently competed at the 2004 NPC Nationals and is preparing for the 2005 Nationals where she says she plans "to avenge that crappy placing last year!" Although said in jest, you know that Lee will 'bring it!' and judging from her experiences in both powerlifting and strongman, it's obvious that the talented athlete is hard core. Heather gave us a little look at her experience that we've excerpted here. To read the full details and to see more of Heather, check out her website: www.heatherleenj.com We...

My First Competition

by Kat Ricker
I loved the training. For months, it had consumed me until the last two weeks, it was all I could think about. I got the time off work and devoted every minute to contest preparation. I'd done everything from heavy 500-rep sets, to meditation, to practicing posing beside our roaring woodstove while covered in Hot Stuff, to prepare myself for the stage light heat.
The day before the competition I was all keyed up, kept going into the gym to have Darryl check on how I was finishing out, until he kicked me out and told me to go home and rest. The dehydration and...

Getting into the Entertainment Business as a fitness Model(part 2)

by Kenneth Kassell
Now that you have decided that you really want to explore the opportunities in the entertainment business, and have found a good agent who really believes in you and your abilities, it's time to get focused and busy. Now if your goal is theatrical and/or commercials, you will want a union afiliated agent, who is franchised with SAG (Screen Actors Guild) or AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) There is also non-union work, but the pay is much lower, and being non-union limits you quite severely. If you are only going to do print ads, then you may...

Iron Maiden's book review

by Hans
Kristin Kaye was a wide-eyed 23 year-old fresh out of drama school in 1993 when she responded to a classified ad that read: "administrative assistant wanted for exciting women's project." What she didn't know at the time was that the project was a Broadway show entitled "The Celebration of the Most Awesome Female Muscle in the World," the brainchild of bodybuilder and writer Laurie Fierstein. Kaye ended up getting hired as the show's director and had just six weeks to put it together. Iron Maidens is her funny, readable account of what followed: a regular girl's journey into the...
