How did you get started
into lifting weights and bodybuilding?
I got my
first gym
membership when I was 15, but I would only do aerobics because I was
embarrassed
to lift. In college we were required to weight train for cheerleading
but that
was inconsistent.
After
college I started training on my own and that
is were I
met my husband who asked me to compete in figure. I had no
clue what
figure
competitions were but I thought I have nothing to lose. From
that point
I have been addicted!
Were
you athletic growing
up? What other sports have you done or are currently doing?
By
the time I was three
years old, I was on stage practicing ballet, tap, jazz and
gymnastics. I
dropped ballet and tap by age six and just practiced jazz and
gymnastics.
I
ran the 100 meter and 400 meter in track for two years and
one year in
shot put, discus and javelin, but my heart was with
cheerleading. I
started cheering when I was 11 years old. I was not only
cheering for
my school I also participating in a traveling team that competed all
year. I
cheered for a total of nine years.

Are
there any questions
you want to ask us?
How did
you and James get
started and who was
the first photo shoot for GeneX Magazine?
our
answer: "Hm, I can't say who was the official first shoot for Gene X
Magazine, but one of the earliest profiles that I took photos for was
of Michelle
Ivers (now Michelle Brent). James and I knew each
other from the industry so in January
of 2003 we merged the sites since I was focusing more time on
my photography studio in San Francisco (Orange Photography) - ever
since then we've worked together!
