Info: Sometimes on the figure stage you'll see some athletes that don't look like they've been training very long and maybe should have put some more time into the gym before they decided to compete, but the opposite is the case for Catherine Sansom-Van Nederveen.

Catherine had only done one previous competition before she jumped into the 2005 California Figure Championships and that was the Utah Spring Classice where she placed second. This mother of a 14-month-old though looked totally in place and admitted that she's only been training for figure for a short while.

From the looks of it, she's got a very bright future though. She's a registered nurse working in the emergency room and she enjoys rock climbing, hiking, skiing and rollerblading and as you can see, she has a very exotic look that's from her mixed Filipino, Irish and Spanish heritage.
